Karies – Tagträume an der Schaummaschine I – LP

On March 10, 2023, Karies released their fourth album, Tagträume an der Schaummaschine I. The pandemic-related pause in live performances created new space for conceptual development. While the previous album Alice (2018) had already ventured into new stylistic territory, the kaleidoscope of musical references was expanded even further on this release. For this album, Thomas Zehnle and Paul Schwarz joined forces as producers. Recording took place mostly in Stuttgart, where Schwarz runs studio spaces as part of a studio collective (Hotel Chelsea Love Connection). Mastering was handled by Enyang Urbiks. The artwork was created in collaboration between Levin Stadler (Levin goes Lightly) and Dan Trautwein, who was also responsible for the video production.
